Alchemilla vulgaris

Alchemilla is easily recognized in the morning by the dew that sparkles on its leaves like a thousand pearls. This small, perennial plant likes cool and damp conditions and is common in France except in the Mediterranean regions. Sacred in Iceland in the past, it had the reputation of prolonging youth and restoring womens beauty during the Renaissance . Its high tannin content gives the Alchemilla toning and astringent properties. It also soothes irritated skin, while the combination of tannins and flavonoids acts as an effective free radical scavenger.

Agrimonia eupatoria

A plant common to the temperate regions of Europe, Asia and Africa, Agrimony grows modestly along roads, on banks and in clearings where its slender cluster of yellow flowers is easily recognized in the summer. The dried plant was a common remedy throughout the Middle Ages and was drunk as an infusion (wood tea) to enhance digestion, liberate the liver and kidneys and soothe soar throats. Recent studies have revealed the presence of flavonoids which ensure a vascular-protective action and especially remarkable stimulating properties on lymphatic circulation.

Pomegranate

The Pomegranate originated in Iran where it was first cultivated around 5,000 years ago and became a favourite fruit of travelers.
